Dr. Paul David Spradley

Dr. Paul David Spradley is the founder and Chief Inclusion Officer of Care Based Leadership, LLC.:  a diversity and inclusion firm that provides custom training that helps companies boost retention, increase productivity and grow revenue.  A passionate advocate and change agent in the areas of education, youth development, and social justice. Spradley is an educator, mentor, seasoned public speaker, emcee and facilitator, consultant, ordained Elder and youth minister; and servant leader from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  A proud graduate of the Pittsburgh Public School system, Spradley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Master’s of Science in Instructional Leadership from Robert Morris University. In 2017, he received his Doctorate in Education from the University of Pittsburgh where his research focus explored Care Based Practices by mentors of Black adolescent males. 

Dr. Spradley is a board member of the  Urban Pathways  K-5 College Charter School, the Pittsburgh Child Guidance Foundation, serves as the President of the Robert Morris University Black Alumni Council and is an ordained elder on the ministry team at The Simple Way: A Pittsburgh House Church Network.  Spradley is a recipient of the Pittsburgh Cares Hero award, was inducted into the New Pittsburgh Couriers Fab 40 under 40, and received the Theodore Jones Outstanding Service to African American student’s award. 

Dr. Spradley is married to the lovely and gifted Dr. Jessica Spradley. Paul and Jessica are the proud parents of Hannah Grace and Nia Hope. In his spare time (which is rare) he enjoys working out, training and competing in MMA and Brazillian Ju Jitsu, singing, acting, riding his motorcycle, exploring new places and foods.

Though Spradley is often valued for his leadership, creativity, vision and strong communications skills, it’s his commitment to making those he encounters feel special and cared for, which defines the impact he has made and is making in the region.  One of Dr. Spradley’s favorite quotes is, “progress over perfection”.
