Daniel Rogers

Professor Daniel Rogers, PhD, CFA, CAIA, FRM is Associate Professor of Finance, and has been on the Portland State University faculty since 2001. He earned a PhD in finance from the University of Utah in 1998. His current teaching focus is on supervising students who manage a $600 million dollar long-only large-cap equity portfolio. Over the last 20+ years, he has taught courses in corporate equity valuation, corporate finance, and derivative securities at Portland State University, Northeastern University, Massey University (New Zealand), and University of Utah. He has published research in the areas of corporate risk management and derivatives usage, managerial incentives and executive compensation, and stock option repricing. Prior to becoming a full-time academic, he held management positions with a national airline and a petroleum products distributor.
