Practicing Futurology in Finance and Accounting + Award Presentation

Join fellow members, sponsors, and future finance leaders at our Academic Awards ceremony. This year's awards will be presented to our scholarship recipients by Julie Pylypczak of Robert Half.

Futurology is the systematic consideration of future possibilities and is integral to many important decisions in accounting and finance. No one is inherently good at predicting the future, but we can improve with practice.

During their presentation, Portland State University Professors, Joel Owens and Daniel Rogers,  will discuss futurology, describe methods for improving strategic foresight, and tell stories related to practicing futurology in the context of accounting judgments, valuation, acquisitions, and risk management.
