Jeff Meyer

Jeffery Meyer is a partner in the Labor & Employment practice group. Jeff represents clients ranging from small businesses to large corporations in all aspects of labor and employment law. Jeff’s wage and hour practice focuses on the hospitality industry, including restaurants, catering halls and other food service providers.

His practice focuses on three primary areas: Wage and Hour Litigation, Labor Relations and Employment Practices Defense.

Jeff represents a large number of clients in the food services and hospitality industries. He has substantial litigation experience defending federal and state wage and hour collective and class actions, as well as audits and investigations before the U.S. Department of Labor and New York State Department of Labor.

He advises employers in all matters related to the union organizing and collective bargaining processes. He frequently appears before the National Labor Relations Board. He also has significant arbitration and mediation experience dealing with unions across the full spectrum of industries and disciplines.

Jeff also regularly appears in court and before various federal, state and local administrative agencies to defend employers against discrimination and retaliation claims. In addition, he provides counsel and guidance to employers, large and small, as it relates to their daily employment decisions and compliance needs.

With political elections comes turmoil in the labor and employment world. Our current environment is no different. Jeff expects significant changes in a number of labor and employment fields, some for the better and some not. Specifically, the changing landscape of joint employer liability and its effects on wage and hour law as well as traditional labor organizing will be a major topic to watch. Without proper guidance and planning, he expects significant litigation in this field for years to come.
