Joe McDonald

A career spanning 50 years, Joe’s extensive experience in the construction industry has placed him progressively responsible in all levels from laborer to Chief Executive Officer. As a mulit- state industrial general contractor who has contracted in both the private and public sectors, an expertise has been developed in all phases of construction and maintenance from off sites and utilities, through foundations, soil stabilization, reinforcing steel, structural concrete, masonry, structural steel, light gauge steel framing, roof structure, plumbing, heating and A/C, ventilation, industrial piping, drilling, blasting, mass excavation and many other industrial processes including electrical and instrumentation… all with a focus on exemplary safety consciousness and security awareness. With a master’s degree in business administration and emphasis in Public Administration combined with the experience of being an Administrative Services Officer in governmental operations Joe has a high understanding of how most large-scale projects work.

 

As the CEO of the New Freedom Project, Joe's role is multi-faceted and encompasses a variety of responsibilities. Some of his key roles include:
Business management: As the CEO, Joe is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the New Freedom Project. This includes managing budgets, setting goals and objectives, and ensuring that the organization is running smoothly.

 

Leadership and team management: As the leader of the organization, Joe is responsible for building and managing a high-performing team. This involves setting expectations, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that all team members are working together effectively.

 

Advocacy and community engagement: As a peer with lived experience, Joe is uniquely positioned to advocate for the needs of the community the New Freedom Project serves. This may involve speaking at events, engaging with community members and stakeholders, and raising awareness of the issues that the organization addresses.

 

Financial management: Joe is responsible for managing the organization's finances, including budgeting, fundraising, and ensuring that the organization is financially sustainable.
