Barb Derus

Barb is a partner in the Transfer Pricing group overseeing our Central and SE regions. Barb also leads for tax our global value chain practice. Barb has 20 years of experience in both international tax and transfer pricing. She started her career in international tax at a Big Four accounting firm, then spent the next 10 years in industry, most recently with a  fortune 500 company overseeing their global transfer pricing group. Barb comes to BDO from a Big Four firm, where she was a transfer pricing director in their value chain and transformation practice focused on advising clients on optimizing and aligning the tax structures with their internal global transformation efforts. Barb utilizes the experience she has gained working within different industries to assess transfer pricing implications, risks and planning opportunities.

Barb’s experience includes extensive work on the implementation, defense, and maintenance of supply chain structures. Barb has also spent a vast amount of her career working on global transfer pricing documentation, valuations, IP planning, management fee studies, APA’s and other global controversy matters, cost sharing arrangements, the harmonization of transfer pricing policies during and after M&A activity, efficient global transfer pricing policy planning and implementations, etc.

Barb is able to bring a unique background to her clients by having worked both in industry and public accounting as well as in international tax and transfer pricing.
