Leveraging Digital Twins to Drive Supply Chain Performance

Senior executives have increasingly turned to digital twins as a means to digitally replicate their end-to-end supply chain and identify new opportunities to leverage existing processes, people, and assets within their firm, their supplier network, and in their customers’ downstream operations. Digital twins replicate real-world operations, capture ground floor processes, and transform them into a live data stream. Then, through the lens of artificial intelligence, executives can identify the critical variations that are causing inefficiency, lower production, or unsafe environments – in real time.  This session provides key insights into how leading organizations are using digital twins to drive supply chain performance and to identify new opportunities for reducing time, labor, and waste across firms.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Understand the digital twin concept, how it can replicate the end-to-end supply chain, and how it differs from traditional simulation models
  • Obtain management insights regarding the ability of digital twins to replicate nearly every aspect of a process and to determine where bottlenecks or inefficiencies may be occurring to drive significant cost reductions and performance improvements
  • Recognize how digital twins can be combined with AI  and machine learning to tremendously improve forecast accuracy and recommend the best course of action
