5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.- Professional Development Session "Value Accelerations.", presented by Brian Pitera, Managing Director, Capstone Partners.

This presentation will explore the transformative role of the CFO in the past decade, marked by dynamic changes in M&A life cycle activities, shifting economic landscapes, and increasing regulatory demands. Brian will share his insights on the evolving strategic responsibilities of CFOs, from being key advisors on acquisitions and capital raising to leading their companies through growth phases. As we move from the past austerity measures to ambitious growth through expansion and acquisition strategies, it becomes crucial to understand how to effectively navigate the risks across the M&A life cycles. With a focus on overcoming the challenges that cause between 70% and 90% of M&A deals to fail, Brian will offer M&A best practices for steering your business toward scalable growth and value acceleration.

Learning Objectives:

  • Who are the internal and external resources needed to support a transaction?
  • What is the CFO’s role in a transaction and what factors lead to a successful deal?
  • Where do acquisitions or carve-outs go wrong and fail?
  • Why is measuring the value realization of an acquisition or separation challenging?
  • How do you as the CFO become the champion of growth and expand shareholder value?

There is so much potential locked inside all of us.  As leaders we spend so much time trying to motivate our people and our organizations to turn that potential into performance.  Some say to leverage practical rewards like money or titles. Some say it’s the way we communicate our vision.  Still others recommend focusing on a deeper purpose – tapping into an individual’s “why”.   But in the end, inspiration and performance remains temporary.
Could there be more to the story?
In this lively session, Steve Lowisz will take you on a personal journey of life and leadership.  A 30-year journey full of personal and professional successes, and potentially catastrophic failures.   A story of two influential characters – the Guide and the Storyteller – and the practical lessons that unlocked individual and team potential and turned it into lasting performance.

Learning Objectives
  • Identify the common caps we place on potential, even with the best of intentions.
  • Experience the impact of influence and its influence on those we interact with.
  • Understand how to apply the 2 key principals of The Guide to unlock the potential in those you interact with.
  • Learn the 8 communication principals shared by the Storyteller that connects and compels people to act.
