Disparities in Healthcare - Pittsburgh's Path, Progress, and Challenges | A Panel Conversation

According to the Economist Intelligence Unit, the research and analysis division of the Economist Group, Pittsburgh ranked third as the most livable city in the nation in June of 2021. Pittsburgh ranked highly in the categories of education, culture and health care systems.

While Pittsburgh is highly ranked, there are still disparities in healthcare and much work to do when it comes to equity, quality of care and high costs of healthcare.  Senior financial executives play a significant role determining access to healthcare for thousands of regional employees.  Join us for a panel discussion to hear how our challenges are being addressed by a community advocate, a large employer and a healthcare provider.

Strategic Approaches to Achieving Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Clinical Trials

This month we're extremely fortunate to feature a PD session that directly compliments our main event topic.  RGP Vice President and Global Life Sciences R&D Leader, Marcia Brown-Rayford, will illuminate the pitfalls of inequity in clinical trials, and describe methods to combat it in order to maximize outcomes for all patients.  Not every technical session needs to be about accounting - join us at 4:30 in the Highmark Lounge to learn more.

This enlightening session will discuss cutting-edge approaches to close the gap and enhance the participation of marginalized patient populations in clinical trials. From decentralized clinical trials to building trust and community engagement to increase patient recruitment, effective insights and guidance on how to ensure clinical trials better reflect relevant patient demographics will be shared.  Attendees will learn…
  • Implications of the digital divide and how technology impacts equity in clinical trials
  • How a lack of diversity in clinical trials impacts a company’s financial bottom line
  • Key performance indicators that can help increase the probability of success and measure DE&I effectiveness in clinical trials.
