A Message From Our President - December 2023

It’s hard to believe we’ve come to the end of another year! As we embark on the holidays, there’s so much to be thankful for – both personally and professionally. Personally, I’m thankful for my family and professionally, I’m thankful to serve as your Chapter President for another two-year term.

As a chapter, we also have a lot to be thankful for – a thriving membership that continues to grow, our sponsors who support us year after year, and a board who is dedicated to the success of our chapter.

This year, we welcomed many new members, including finalists for the Tampa Bay Business Journal CFO of the Year awards. With each new member, our group becomes more diverse, which expands our opportunities for networking and professional development. I can’t tell you how beneficial this chapter has been to me personally when I encounter a professional challenge. As finance professionals, we encounter many of the same roadblocks and our shared knowledge will only help us grow and better support our organizations.

In 2023, our chapter also made an impact locally with our philanthropic efforts. Our annual Clays for a Cure sporting clays tournament was held in November and raised money to support Bay Area Advisors and Moffitt Cancer Center. At our holiday social, our chapter also raised $4,025 for Metropolitan Ministries and their holiday efforts, which support more than 30,000 residents between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We were also happy to sponsor the Vaco Tacky Holiday Golf Tournament benefiting Joshua House.

In the new year, we also have two volunteer days planned. On February 8, we’ll visit Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay’s JA Finance Park and work with local eighth graders learning about financial literacy. On May 3, we’ll also go back to Metropolitan Ministries to volunteer at Hope Hall. I hope that you’ll join us for one or both events. It’s a great opportunity to get to know your fellow chapter members and give back to a worthy cause in the community.

Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season. I look forward to seeing you next year!

Sincerely,

Joanne Dempster
Chapter President
